The New Drugs Course was born of an idea to provide pharmacists and other clinical practitioners with an update on newly approved or soon to be approved drugs. The first New Drugs Course was given at UCSF in 1989. It received such good reviews that the planning committee decided to do it again the next year. This started the series that is now in its 22nd year. The Planning Committee has come up with an exciting lineup of topics for 2010. They range from internal medicine topics such as atrial fibrillation and an update on gout to more specialized ones such as epilepsy and pain management. We are also bringing back old favorites including pharmacy law.

The Department of Veterans Affairs Northern California Health Care System (VANCHCS) with assistance from the Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at University of the Pacific continue their commitment to you by providing a high quality, independently organized and therapeutically-oriented update of drug information and pharmacy practice. We look forward to seeing you in San Francisco.
